Intermediate or any examination recognized by the Government as equivalent.
Preferential qualification:
(i) have served in the Territorial Army for a period of two years, or

Physical Standards
Physical Standards -the physical standards for candidates for the post of Excise Constable shall be as follows:
For male candidates:
(1) Chest: Minimum 80 centimeters (unexpanded) and minimum 85 centimeters (expanded).
(2) Height: Minimum 167.6 centimeters.
For female candidates:
(1) Weight: Minimum 45 kilograms.
(2) Height: Minimum 152 centimeters for General Category candidates.
(3) Height: Minimum 147 centimeters for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates.
Physical efficiency test (PET)
4.8 kilometer run will be required to be completed in 25 minutes and the 2.4 kilometer run for female candidates will be required to be completed in 14 minutes.
